September Nail Art Challenge: Stamping Month! Day 16: Rainbow

Introduction:

I love rainbows, whenever I see one it make me feel happy and I always look for them if the weather is right. However creating rainbow on the nails is quite challenging. I wanted to make it bright rainbow rather then pastel, so creating decal with all bright colors was an obvious choice.

Results:

Figure 1. Single nail rainbow stamping.

Figure 2. Image with the bottle of PP Mirage.

Figure 3.  One more macro image at different light.

Figure 4.  I added a bird , as was suggested.

Materials and Methods:

Nail polish:
  • Picture polish -Mirage (3 coats)
  • Picture polish -Vegas (decal)
  • Zoya - Amy (decal)
  • Zoya - Kerry (stamping and decal)
  • Crows toes - Green thumb of doom (decal)
  • Picture polish - Whimsy (decal)
  • Emily de Molly - Indigo flow (decal)
  • Zoya - Suri (decal)
Stamping plates:
  •  Pueen 39
Discussion:

Overall this was a simple nail art. I applied three coats of mirage to create smooth sky-like background. For stamping I decided to use Kerry to have gold lines between colorful ones, which I painted on the stamper using selection of polishes. Once decal dried I just applied it on the semi-dry top coat. I have a feeling that this nail looks a bit unfinished, so I tried stamping different things above rainbow, but it did not work well, so this could probably be part of different nail art involving all five nails and extra stamping.
