40 great nail art ideas: Pink needle drag floral design

Introduction

Good day darlings. I'm on vacation in Russia, but I'll try to write couple blog posts and share some pictures on IG. This week challenge for 40 great nail art ideas was pink & lilac and my specific prompt was needle drag. I just received this gorgeous pink-lilac jelly with copper glitter - Wear it like armour Cadillaquer, perfect shade for spring and for this challenge. However it would not work as a base for needle drag technique as it requires 3 coats to reach opacity. That's why I did needle drag design using clear base polish and bright pink-magenta polish called Electra on top of the silicone mat, let it dry and applied as decals. Also, I added some individual glitters on top so that it would look like flowers. On pictures it looks a bit messy, but in real life those flowers looked wonderful. And did I mention that I'm in love with this particular shade of lilac? I'm sure you'll see it again on my blog.

Emily de Molly Calibrated and purple holographic glitter placement

Introduction

Good day darlings. I have another glitter placement design this time with holographic purple and gold glitters. Perfect background for this glitter is wonderful Emily de Molly polish - Calibrated. I could not resist and added some swatch pictures below. Calibrated is a purple jelly, but since it's full of multichrome flakies two coats were enough for full coverage. Oh and another important step, instead of regular base polish I used transparent peel of base and removal was super easy. Looks like glitter placement is going to be one of my favorite techniques.

Neon watercolor water marble with Fair Maiden Rainbow brights and MoYou London Pro XL14 stamping

Introduction

Good day darlings. This water marble design was done for Purple, orange and pink prompt at When colors collide. I decided to make something which would look like watercolor splashes going one into another and that's exactly how it turned out. Nude base helped to achieve color different color intensity, although it was pretty difficult to photograph neon polish. After wearing these for couple days, I added metallic purple floral stamping on top and result was really wonderful. I'm serious in love with both versions and can not choose my favorite.

Good god Bow polish and "Moon landing" stamping nail art with MoYou London Sci-Fi 03

Introduction

Good day darlings. Today I have something magical, multichrome Bow polish called Good god. It's mainly purple with a transition to green through gold and it has holographic particles. And I was able to capture this transition, so I'm super happy with my swatch pictures. Since this polish looks like a galaxy on your nails, it became a base for my "Moon landing stamping". Foolishly, I used Color club topper Concrete jungle after stamping. It sort of took away multichrome effect, but still look nice, just not as I imagined it.

Emily de Molly Rough sketch swatch

Introduction

Good day darlings. Today I have swatch of colorful Emily de Molly glitter called Rough sketch. It's a bright mint cream polish with added orange, purple and blue glitters or various sizes. In my opinion Hayley from Emily de Molly makes one of the best glitters among all indies and this one is not an exception. Application is super smooth and glitter shows up nicely in spite of quite opaque base. Also I love this unique color combination, which makes Rough sketch so special.

Bow polish Andromeda swatch plus purple & green stamping

Introduction

Good day darlings. This post is my contribution to When colors collide Purple & green prompt. I started with gorgeous purple-blue duochrome Andromeda (figure 2). Given that it also contains green flakies this was a perfect base. Bow polish is actually a new brand created by Dance legend with a unique bottle style and good quality. I bought this polish and Russia, but now international shipping is available if you buy directly from Dance legend site (link at the end of my post). For stamping I used one image from MoYou London Explorer 18 plate and two stamping colors purple & green. It's a simple design, but all components work nicely together,

Born pretty stamping plate BPL-23 review and coupon code.

Introduction

Press sample
Good day darlings. Today I have review of another stamping plate from Born pretty store BPL-23. This plate is super sweet it has images of various candies, fruits and drinks and can be used any time, as well as for some holiday themed manis. There are full nail images (size 15 x 21 mm) and small individual images, best of all they correlate between each other. For my design I made stamping decals from large image with tea cups for index and pinky. On the rest of my fingers I did gradient and stamped 3 different images on top. This combination turned out really pretty and I'm definitely going to use this plate in the future. If you are interested in BPL 023 it's currently on sale (only 3.99$), also fell free to use my coupon code PHDX31 to get 10% from entire store.

40 great nail art ideas: 3 shades of purple half & half dotting nail desing

Introduction

Good day darlings. I'm happy to show you my second contribution to 40 great nail art ideas. This week prompt was 3 shades of purple and I had to make half & half design. The pile of my untrieds is getting significantly smaller, but I still have plenty of purples and it was a nice chance to use some of them. Because I really love how Final fantasy and Purple portion of Vincent van Gold duo look on there own, the design is rather simple. Yet it turned out so wonderful, that I was wearing these nails since Sunday !!!

Introduction

Good day darlings. Nasty winter Sunday here, so I decided to cheer it up with Butterfly design using wonderful purple holo glitter Ivana Shagalot from The Brothel collection The Don Deeva polish and MoYou London Kitty plate full of butterfly designs. I wanted to use them all, but had to choose only two, one is a butterfly wing on my index, middle and pinky and second is little butterflies for ring finger and thumb. I love that this design turned out so airy like real butterflies.

"Starburst" water marble nail design using The Don Deeva Lost my marbles jellies

Introduction

Contains press smaples

Good day darlings. Today I have fresh water marble design using The Don Deeva polish from Lost my marble collection. I used two colors blue and purple, both water marble flawlessly. For this design I made water marble decals, because I do not like to deep my fingers and prefer to apply marbles after they dry. I noticed that water marbles with The Don Deeva polish dry quite fast, also they are very thin and flexible, which makes it really easy to apply as decals. Check out my video tutorial at the end of this post to see it for yourself. Since this design was done for #watermarblepracticewed propmt "Starburst" I added some glitter stars and purple microglitter to complement water marble.

The Don Deeva polish The Brothel collection swatches and review

Introduction
Press sample

Good day darlings. Today I have swatches of wonderful glitters from The Don Deeva polish collection called The Brothel. These glitters not only look stunning, but they also watermarble easily. You can check out my Candy cane design to see it for yourself. The formula is very smooth and pleasantly thin, non surprising for polish which water marbles. These glitters glide on your nail effortlessly, such an easy application, I love it! Unfortunately some really large glitters are sinking. The good news is that shaking of the bottle helps to mix most of them back. In spite of thin formula these glitters are fully packed with holographic particles, flakies, microglitters and glitters of various shapes and sizes. For my swatches I applied two easy coats on top of the nude peel of base and covered them with Seche vite top coat. Let's look at each  polish individually.

Clairestelle8challenge: Femme fatale Moonlight statues swatch

Introduction

Good day darlings, today I have something amazingly beautiful for you - a swatch of purple glitter , because I'm combining two challenges #clairestelle8challenge and #macrochallenge. The polish which I chose is fantastic glitter from Femme fatale - Moonlight statues. It's described as a berry  jelly with strong blue shimmer, but since I applied it on top of the dark purple Cauldron of dreams by Emily de Molly, its color looks more intense compared to other swatches. I honestly think that these two polishes were made for each other, and I'm so much in love with this combo!!! You will see plenty of gorgeous pictures below and trust me, I had a super hard time trying to narrow them down. Moonlight statues is outstanding and very complex glitter, definitely a must have one.

Picture polish nail art quarterly 1 "Flower power" and my free hand design "Flowers and snails"

Introduction

Good day darlings, today I finally can post my free hand design for the Picture Polish nail art contest (* #ppnailartquarterly1), on which I was working for the past two weeks. It was a real challenge and I made four different designs, you gonna see remaining three later.  The theme was "Flower power" and many people strongly associate this phrase with hippie culture. Since I'm a biologist, my nail art was inspired by the amazing power of flowers which we often disregard. World wide people enjoy the beauty of flowers, forgetting that originally the perform a very important function, they create habitat for numerous little creatures. I've always admired how flowers and animals can co-exist and become an essential part of each other's life. For this manicure I used Never Nude, Dragonfly and Hussy to create fictional dry brush flowers and little snails living among them. Accents were done using black and white acrylic paint. Snails have colors similar to those of flowers and can easily hide among them, while helping to spread pollen from one flower to another. I love the harmony of this mini ecosystem, don't you?

30 Days of Colour: Wing dust Plum outta ideas swatch

Introduction

Today is a Purple/Sharpie marble day in June 30 Days of Colour challenge. I never tried sharpie marble and normally I would jump on something new like this. This time unfortunately I could not find inspiration for it and prepared simple swatch of purple polish Plum outta ideas. This my first and only polish from Wing dust and I was very happy with the quality. It's purple jelly with glitters, mostly golden and purple with a hint of red and holo blue. I love glitters in this polish they are tiny and make a wonderful combination. Two coats look a bit sheer on pictures, so I guess three coats would be safer.

HPB Presents: Enchanted polish 2 AM summer night and stamping nail art "Night garden"

Introduction

This month is dedicated to May flowers in Hobby polish bloggers FB group (HPB). It just happened that I accumulated several beautiful floral manicures and I decided to share some of them during HPB floral week (May 15-22). This is my first entry, simple stamping which looks really good, because background polish 2 AM summer night (swatched here) is so reach and vampy. I used QA plate which was my long term obsession and was pleased with results.

Tribal stamping nail art with Enchanted polish Freeze machine "Triangle gradient"

Introduction

I hope you are not tired of thermal polish, because today I have stamping combined with glitter gradient and thermal polish. If you follow my blog you might recognize two previous swatches as a base for this tribal stamping (Termo trio 1 and Freeze machine). I simply love this final version with stamping, all elements just works perfectly together and due to the thermal sensitivity you have several different looks in one mani.  My favorite is medium cold version with purple background and dark blue tips. I can say that my love for thermal polish gets dipper every time I use one.
