Pirate's map - Messy mansion 37

Introduction:

Yo-ho-ho, are you ready for pirate's treasure hunt?? While searching internet for inspiration I discovered and fell in love with two pirate related nail arts. One from wackylaki blog and another one from on wednesdays we wearpolish. I had to buy this  messy mansion plate and make a pirate mani. Plate arrived some time back, but I was busy with Christmas challenge. I'm so happy, that I finally decided to give it a try.

Results:
Figure 1. Nail artPirate's map.

Figure 2. Three more images at different light settings.

Figure 3. Macro images of stamping.

Materials and Methods:

Nail polish:
  • Julep - Nicoletta (1 base coat)
  • Mundo de unas - Holland Blue and Bronze (stamping)
  • Essie - Matte about you (top coat)
Stamping plates:
  • Messy mansion - MM37
Acrylic paint:
  • White and blue

Discussion:

The background for this look was done using acrylic paint applied similar to "bubble" technique. Here is great video tutorial about it. Instead of making small bubbles I applied paint all over nail. The final result is super cool, is not it? And it dries really fast compared to polish. After background was done I stamped blue map and bronze images. Applied matte top coat, and it was ready. I definitely like how it looks on my nails and gonna use this technique again :)
